Description

For the 2014 season and beyond, drivers picked a unique car number to use for the remainder of their Formula One career; Vettel chose the number five. However, as reigning World Drivers' Champion, he carried number one throughout the season.

Vettel was also notorious for changing helmet design from race to race, with a different theme each time. On this particular occasion, Vettel paid homage to the German national soccer team winning their fourth World Cup, and coinciding with Vettel's four F1 World Champion titles. A very patriotic helmet featuring a prominent German theme, along with four stars.

Sebastian Vettel finished fourth in the race, 21.5 seconds behind Hamilton and 44 seconds behind Rosberg. Alonso and Ricciardo finished a very close 5th and 6th – Alonso finishing a mere 0.082 seconds ahead of Ricciardo – after the pair had been engaged in a close battle for position over the final 8 laps

The helmet was hand-signed by Vettel on the visor tear off, in silver marker.
