Description

Williams took a step up for the 1992 season, keeping their 1991 driver line-up of Patrese and Mansell.

Mansell became World Champion, scoring 108 points, with Patrese finishing second with 56 points.

Patrese took a win at the Japanese Grand Prix and had another eight podium finishes, including six second-place results. In his role of second driver to Nigel Mansell, Patrese handled the delicate situation of team orders diplomatically (including moving out of the way for Mansell while leading comfortably at the French Grand Prix).

Nicknamed "Il Leone" by Ferrari's adoring Tifosi for his heart and bravery, Mansell placed first in 9 of the 16 races on the 1992 roster, and as such set a new record for the most wins by a driver in one year. Also called "Red 5" for his famous race number, Mansell joined CART-sanctioned PPG IndyCar Series for the 1993 season, and won the championship, making him the only simultaneous World Champion in two distinct series.

This official Williams jacket is a non-tobacco replica of the 1992 Williams Renault driver's suit.
