Button won at the Australian Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix in variable weather to take the lead of the Drivers' Championship. He later finished second in Turkey and followed with two podium finishes. Second at Monza and subsequently fourth in both Singapore and Japan. Button took fifth in the championship, finishing with a third place in Abu Dhabi.
